The Otiri, Abotor, Awani and Lori families of Warri Kingdom have assured that the newly installed Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami will prioritize the larger interest of Itsekiri Nation in the discharge of his functions.
The position of the Otiri, Abotor, Awani and Lori families came on the backdrop of reservation expressed by Omasan Descendants Union and Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, against the conferment of the prestigious title of Ologbotsere of Warri on Chief Ayirimi Emami by The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli.
In a statement signed by Pa. Duro Otiri, Pa. James Omaye Awani and Pa. Philip Lori on behalf of the aforementioned Ologbotsere families, they stressed, “Chief Ayirimi Emami is ancestrally and eminently qualified to ascend the stool of the Ologbotsere because he hails patrilineal from the Ajuwaoyiboyanmi (IYA) stock of the Ologbotsere Eyinmisan descendant whose family nominated him”.
The statement dated October 27, 2017,noted, “the selection of an Ologbotsere of Warri is purely and mainly the affair of the Ologbotsere family, hence His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli in his wisdom referred the matter back to the Ologbotsere family after the much quoted July 25, 2017 protest to the Olu's Palace”, Warri.
