Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on Thursday December 7 said the House has received the transmitted copy of the Constitution Amendment Bill from the National Assembly.
The Speaker who disclosed this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Dennis Otu, said that, "The transmitted copy of the Constitution Amendment Bill has been received by the Delta State House of Assembly and is receiving adequate attention".
While assuring Deltans and Nigerians in general that the House, which according him, is the most vibrant in the country would do the needful, the Speaker said, "We are out to serve the people and we cannot afford to do otherwise. Deltans should be rest assured that the needful will be done for the betterment and progress of the state and its people and Nigerians at large. The needful is going to be done for our people as far as the Constitution Amendment is concerned. Issues for amendment will be subjected to extensive debate and decisions will be taken through Majority votes", the Speaker reassured.
