Monarch, Edjeba Community reject Chief Emifoniye as Deputy Unuowodo

The paramount ruler of Agbarha Kingdom in Warri South Council Area of Delta State, His Royal Highness, Orhifi 11 and the entire Edjeba community have rejected the candidature of the Ugo of Agbarha Kingdom, Chief Isaac Emifoniye as the new Deputy Unuowodo of Edjeba community.

They also maintained that since he and the present Unuowodo of the kingdom is from the same Ikpuri family of Edjeba, it is morally and traditionally unacceptable to them because Edjeba has three quarters and the title is not expected to be held by persons of the same quarters.

In a statement by the former leaders of the Legislative Arm of the Warri South Council and former Ohwuvie of Edjeba community, Hon. Marcus Udoyo, he said the monarch has rejected Chief Emifoniye’s candidature for the position for undisclosed reasons, but that he has continued to parade himself as the Deputy Unuowodo of Edjeba, going about harassing and intimidating elders and youths, even as he also goes about collecting royalties from companies in the community illegally.

According to Hon. Udoyo, Chief Emifoniye is going about deceiving and misleading the people that he is the Deputy Unuowodo, noting that he is an impersonator that should be disregarded by all. The former House leader said the purported election where he emerged as Deputy Unuowodo was stage managed and thoroughly manipulated as it was held in the private residence of his brother against the tradition of holding such meeting where a preferred candidate of the community is selected for the position in the town hall.

While debunking rumours that he is against Chief Emifoniye, because he did not support his 2nd term bid to return to the House, Hon. Udoyo said the issues being raised by him are not political but communal, even as revealed that there was no PDP primaries held anywhere by the PDP in Edjeba ward where he emerged as winner when the party flag bearer is another person entirely.

He therefore charged Chief Emifoniye to stop parading himself as Deputy Unuowodo of Edjeba, stop deceiving and harassing the elders and youths of the community by impersonation and called on the security agencies to wade into the matter to forestall break down of law and order in Edjeba.
