Peace in Ekpan is not cosmetic, Delta Commissioner declares

Delta State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sir Bright Edejeghro says the prevailing peace in Ekpan Community, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State is not cosmetic, assuring that it will be sustained with tremendous peace building efforts by Delta State Government, leaders of Ekpan Community and other stakeholders.

Sir Edejeghro made the declaration Monday January 1, 2018, during the grand finale of Igoni Peace Carnival organized by Udumuovwori Quarters, Ekpan near Warri.

According to him, Igoni Carnival symbolizes peace, unity and progress to Ekpan people and it is also to usher in peace to the New Year.

He enjoined the people to learn to live peacefully with one another, even as he called on genuine investors to invest in Ekpan Community, adding that Ekpan was very strategic to the economy of Delta State.

While commending organizes of the carnival, Sir Edejeghro appealed to Deltans to support Dr. Okowa led administration in order to enjoy the dividends of the governor’s SMART agenda.
