Tidi reveals vision for Warri South

Newly sworn-in Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Michael Tidi says his vision for Warri South Local Government is “to start strong and finish strong”, adding that in the task of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people, both the executive and legislative arms must work together.

The Warri south Council Boss dropped the hint Tuesday January 16 at the Warri South Council Legislative Arm during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected councilors of the Local Government.

While noting the great significance of the parliament in the structure of governance, the Warri South Chairman who was flanked by his Vice, Mrs. Divine Iniovosa, noted that his administration will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that peace and security of lives as well as properties reign supreme in the Local Government.

He acknowledged the challenge of revamping Warri South and averred that part of his administration’s dream “is to encourage our young people to be creative”, adding, “in this regard, we will partner with well-meaning Nigerians and non-governmental organizations to provide business and technical training to help our young people actualize their dream”.

Our Correspondents report that highpoint of the ceremony was the administering of oath of office to the 19 newly elected councilors by Chief Magistrate C.I Moeteke.

Meanwhile, a second term councilor, Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre has emerged the new Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, while another of his counterpart, Hon. Oris Eyikimi is now the Deputy Leader.

The Clerk of Warri South Legislative Arm, Comrade Godfrey Affor Maku administered the Oath of Office to them after presiding over a brief inaugural session.
