Delta: Keyamo moves to wrestle power from PDP

Effervescent legal practitioner and human rights’ activist, Festus Keyamo has commenced move to wrestle power from those he described as “a selfish few who have always decided the political future of Delta State and her people”.

In an advertorial published in a national daily, Monday February 11, the renowned rights’ activist declared that “the only way to return Delta State to the people is through mass mobilization and mass participation in the political process and not by cynicism, despondency and political abstinence”.
It was not immediately clear as at Press time if Keyamo’s move has anything to do with the newly formed mega party, All Progressives Congress, APC but there are clear indications from the advertorial that the name of the new movement which is Delta Forces United, DFU is to wrestle power from the seeming unpopular ruling Peoples Democratic Party which has held power in the state since 1999.

The advertorial which was signed by Henry Ukusare, Pro-term Secretary also called on interested coordinators and volunteers who “must be prepared to deploy their time, resources and skills in various fields of human endeavour to sensitize, mobilized and rally the people of Delta to achieve these objectives”.

Already a website: www.deltaforcesunited.wordpress.com and facebook page: www.facebook.com/DeltaForce United where interested patriots can download the membership form have been opened.

The advertorial blamed “the culture of making political leaders and godfathers out of those who only dole out money to a selfish few to secure political support as the root cause of underdevelopment” in Delta State.

Delta Forces United, DFU has promised to develop a comprehensive blueprint for the reconstruction and development of Delta State.
