The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli making a remark

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli has admonished the newly sworn-in Ugboegungun Community Trust in Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, not to portray the community in bad light, but to use “good attitude” to unite it with the aim of working towards peace and progress.

The Warri Monarch gave the charge Friday February 2 at the Olu Palace, Warri, when he received members of the immediate past Ugboegungun Community Trust and the new Ugboegungun Community Trust led by Mr. Bawo Oteri.

While expressing optimism that the Bawo Oteri led leadership of the community will correct whatever was not in good shape in Ugboegungun, the Olu of Warri commended the immediate past Ugboegungun Community Trust members for handing over the mantle of leadership honourably at the expiration of their 4-year tenure.

The new Chairman of Ugboegugun Community Trust, Mr. Bawo Oteri in a chat with newsmen shortly after the Warri Monarch’s blessing, assured that his leadership will do everything possible to usher in peace and development in the community.

While declaring that the end of pollution has come for Ugboegungun, Mr. Bawo Oteri assured the Federal and State governments as well as the Multinational Oil and Gas Companies operating in the community that the new trust in collaboration with the youth executive of the community will stamp out all forms of illegal oil bunkery often perpetrated by “strangers” to sabotage the economy and pollute the community.

Other key members of the 21-member Ugboegungun Community Trust which has a 4-year mandate include; Hon. Davies Omatsone – Vice Chairman, Edah Gbubemi – Secretary General, Billy Emami – PRO and Faith Edema – Treasurer.
