The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Warri Division has solicited the assistance of Warri South Local Government Council for the provision of a piece of land to enable the International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC build permanent secretariat for the division.
The appeal was contained in an address presented by the chairman of Nigerian Red Cross Society, Warri Division, Dr. Mayomi Onuwaje Thursday April 5 during a courtesy visit to chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Michael Tidi.
While calling on the Warri South Council Boss, Hon. Michael Tidi to sustain the cordial relationship his predecessor had with the Warri Division of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Dr. Onuwaje disclosed plans to decorate Hon. Tidi as the grand patron of the Red Cross Society in Warri South Local Government Area, just as they appealed for a slot in the council's Environmental Sanitation Committee.
Responding, Hon. Tidi promised to address the requests of Red Cross Society, Warri Division and quipped that his administration will have to liaise with community leaders and other stakeholders on the possibility of getting land for the construction of permanent secretariat for the humanitarian society.
