I’ve been Shutout of APC, Ex-Kogi Speaker, Imam

Nine months after resigning as Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Imam Ahmed Umar says he has been shutout from every All Progressives Congress related activities in the state, expressing concern over what he described as mismanagement of the party from the state to the ward level.

The lawmaker who made the declaration while hosting hundreds of youths from Lokoja-Kogi Federal Constituency at his Lokoja residence Monday May 21, decried what he termed persistent humiliation from his party, the All Progressive Congress.

According to Imam, APC is working very hard towards losing next elections in Kogi State, even as he warned that anything short of free and fair party primaries to elect a candidate for the forthcoming House of Representatives bye-election to fill the vacant seat following the death of Arc. Baba Jibril, Imam may force some of them to seek platform outside the APC.

"I am aware that someone has been anointed. Even the candidate came to my house to inform me that he has been anointed. But I told him we will meet on the field. When we joined APC, we had high hopes that things will be done differently. We promised people change, a paradigm shift from the old order, but current happenings in the party are not encouraging, to say the least," he said.

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that Hon. Imam disclosed that Labour Party, Accord, SDP, ADP and another political party have reached out to him, offering their platform for his House of Representatives ambition.
