A cross section of contractors handling the 2011- 2013 project circle of Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC have expressed optimism as well as gave assurance that they will complete their projects in record time once funds are immediately released.

The contractors, including Jonathan Orugboh, Chief Mike Odeli and Mr. Igbiaye who spoke to a delegation of IRDC executive that toured the 23 IRDC communities to access the state of projects stopped while the leadership issue of the Chevron established development agency lasted, assured of readiness to  complete contracts awarded to them immediately funds are released.

They appealed to the IRDC leadership to consider variation of the jobs as a result of delayed payment and increased cost of building materials while the IRDC leadership imbroglio lasted.

Public Relations Officer of IRDC, Prince Moses Fregene who addressed the media on behalf of other executive members like Oti Edukugho, Esq and Erefoluwa Keka that were part of the projects’ assessment technical committee, assured that the new IRDC leadership was poised to complete all on-going projects.

He advised those not conversant with the operation of the committee to seek better understanding, rather than peddle unfounded speculation about its fund disbursement process.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the two- day project assessment tour of the IRDC delegation, saw them inspecting town hall and housing units’ projects.
