In what can be described as a major boost to environmental sanitation drive in the area, Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South local government, Dr. Augustine Uroye has taken delivery of two Waste Disposal Vehicles and a One-Wheel Loader donated by the management of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission,DESOPADEC.
The Warri South Council Chairman who was apparently delighted with the commission’s gesture described it as a glaring example of what government should be like.
Dr. Uroye promised to always partner DESOPADEC and thanked the state government for establishing the commission, adding that everyone in Warri South local government will be positively affected in the area of environmental sanitation as a result of the newly donated waste disposal vehicles and one-wheel loader.
He commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s Peace and Security effort in the state despite obvious challenges and gave plaudits to the governor’s support to local government councils in the area of environmental sanitation.
Handing over the one-wheel loader to the Warri South Council boss on behalf of the Chairman of DESOPADEC,Mr. Oritsua Kpogho, the Commission’s Director, Industrial Promotion and Investment, Barr. Toju Emiko explained that the one-wheel loader is to enable authorities of Warri South local government in its waste disposal efforts in the next six months.
The Director of Administration and Supply , DESOPADEC, Chief Emy Ojuederie while formally handing over the two waste disposal Vehicles to the Chairman of Warri South local government , Dr. Augustine Uroye enjoined the council authorities not to relent in its environmental sanitation drive, noting that the commission is always ready to partner the council authority in its resolve to make Warri more conducive for business.
High point of the brief handing over ceremony was the signing of the change of ownership certificate by Chairman of Warri South local government, Dr. Augustine Uroye and Officials of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.
Vice Chairman of Warri South local government council transition committee, Mr. Dafe Ikpuri, Secretary to the local government, Mr. Eugene Ebisin, the Warri South council Head of Personnel Management, Mr. James Kolo and Treasurer to the local government ,Mr. Santos Ogobri witnessed the handing over ceremony which held at DESOPADEC office, Okuokoko
