Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa last night (Tuesday September 4) in Warri, rejected move by some PDP leaders to lobby for the adoption of consensus in the party primaries commencing September 15, insisting on his earlier position that all aspirants must test their popularity at the primaries.
The Governor who is credited for transparently conducting two National Conventions of the PDP and the recent Ekiti State PDP gubernatorial primary, bluntly refused lobby by the party leaders last night in Warri and stressed that his administration will stick to the indirect primary, hence all House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senatorial aspirants have equal opportunity to lobby delegates if they truly desire victory.
Fresh Angle International gathered that some prominent leaders of the party in Delta South who were at the meeting left the venue disappointed as a result of Dr. Okowa's position.
