College of Education, Agbor in Ika South local government area, Delta State on Wednesday March 27 matriculated 1,722 students into its School of Education, Sciences, Social Sciences, Languages, Vocational and Technical Education.
Our Correspondent who covered the ceremony reports that Provost of the institution, Dr. Duke Okobia in his address charged the new intakes to shun cultism, indecent dressing and examination malpractice.
Dr. Okobia challenged the matriculating students to always imbibe the spirit of hard-work, diligence and humility in order to graduate in good time. He said the institution will always reward good and well behaved students during graduation.
He advised the students to always use their time judiciously, just as he quipped that if they experience any difficulty in their academic and extra curricula activities, they should immediately seek the help of the institution’s guidance councilors as well as the student affairs department for prompt advice.
High point of the ceremony was the administering of oath to the 1,722 matriculating students by the provost, Dr. Okobia.
Our Correspondent reports that immediately after the matriculation ceremony, there were cultural dances, gospel and hip hop songs played to entertain the students and their guests at both the school campus 1 and 2.
It would be recalled that Delta State University, Abraka recently held its 2013 matriculation ceremony, while our campus check reveals that the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State will on Friday April 12 hold its 2013 matriculation ceremony for new intakes, exactly 10 days to the commencement of its 2012/2013 first semester examination.
