PDP stakeholders raise alarm over internal enemies ahead 2019

 Following the failure of some PDP stalwarts over the conduct of the party primary in Kogi State, some leaders and stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party in the state on Tuesday, October 30, raised alarm over alleged activities of internal enemies working against the victory of the party in 2019, Our Kogi State Correspondent reports

A statement by the Concerned Kogi West Senatorial District Leaders and Stakeholders described those working against the victory of PDP as moles whose commitment to the party’s success is ambiguous and mischievous.

The Concerned Kogi West Senatorial District Leaders and Stakeholders in a statement signed by Anjorin Zakari after its emergency meeting, expressed determination to work very hard in ensuring victory for Peoples Democratic Party candidates in the presidential and legislative elections come 2019.

The statement reads in part, "In view of the political situation in the country presently, leaders of our great party, People's Democratic Party met to take a holistic retrospection on the journey so far and at the same time come up with appropriate measures to enhance the electoral fortunes of our party in Kogi State and Kogi West in particular. The unscrupulous activities of some leaders and stakeholders in the party were identified and extensively examined as it has consistently jeopardized the success of our great party in the past. Unfortunately, these retrogressive traits raised its ugly heads again as seen in the manner the recent primaries to elect candidates for various offices were conducted. We acknowledge the adverse effects on the party's performance in the forthcoming general elections if, the unfortunate situation foisted on the party by the greed and self-centeredness of a few individuals who place personal interests above party interests is not properly managed. We remain loyal and committed party members despite the despicable undemocratic exhibition of the recent past. We still hold dear the ideals and principles of our great party as we have no other party to call our own apart from the People's Democratic Party (PDP). It is consequent upon the above that, we remain steadfast in our determination to work very hard in ensuring victory for the People's Democratic Party's candidates in the Presidential and legislative elections come 2019. In a bid to further reposition our party to reclaim its lost glory in Kogi West, we are determined to check the activities of moles and enemies within whose commitment to the party's success is ambiguous and mischievous”.
