Hon. Oki made the statement on Tuesday June28 in a chat with Fresh Angle during the evening session of Day 2 of the popular Awankere festival held at themarket square. He also told Fresh Angle that this year’s event is the 514thedition of Awankere festival.
Hon. Oki noted that the Awankere festival isall about hospitality.
He debunked the allegation that some personswould want to catch in on the festival for negative reasons saying “as it is,there is no fighting, no injury, but unity”, stressing that the majorsignificance of the Awankere festival is unity, peace and a period forprocreation.
