There was mixed feelings at about 9:30am Friday April 5 when an unidentified female lunatic gave birth to a baby girl at the front of Warri South Council Main Secretariat beside NNPC Zonal Office , Warri, Delta State, Fresh Angle can exclusively report.
The lunatic who was earlier spotted by some Staffers of the Council, passersby, and Our Senior Correspondent, Matthew Omonigho, lying seeming lifeless unknown to people that she was under-going labour, disappeared immediately she delivered the baby directly opposite the yet-to-be commissioned bus stop built by the Uduaghan administration close to the gate of Warri Club that has become a home to some three male lunatics.
Fresh Angle can report that as soon as passersby and some staff of the Warri South local government council heard the cry of the baby, an elderly experienced female cleaner who works with the council rushed to the scene to clean up the pretty and healthy looking baby girl after which a Principal Information Officer with the local government council, Mr. Ebule Anthony Metsese, contacted the Apex Nurse of Warri South local government council, Mrs. Marian Ayemere who immediately promised that the baby will be given prompt attention.
Head of Warri South Local Government Council Information Unit, Mrs. Ufuoma Ajuwa immediately arranged a taxi and took the baby to the Health Centre at the Warri South Council Sub-Secretariat, where the baby is presently being given medical attention and also under close observation.
Attempts to speak with the Transition Committee Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Dr. Augustine Uroye on his mobile phone on the issue was unsuccessful as at press time, as a result of poor network, while the where-about of the lunatic could not be ascertained.
