A grassroots sports developer and founder of OJC Cares Foundation, Omagbemi Jemine Charles has organized what he described as the first Internally Displaced Persons Camp, IDP Basketball Clinic to train and empower young people on the ethics and love for basketball in Nigeria.
According to the founder of OJC Cares Foundation, the decision to organize the basketball clinic at the IDP Camp in Uhogua near Benin City, Edo State, was due to God’s directive through a dream.
While noting that he looks forward to building basketball, volleyball, handball and netball courts as well as boxing gym across secondary schools in Delta State to encourage grassroots sports development, Omagbemi Charles revealed that OJC Cares Foundation plans to organize basketball tourney in 2019, in order to discover more young talents from basketball and other sports.
He explained that the essence was to enable the young talents represent Nigeria at the Olympics and other international competitions.

OJC Cares Foundation assured of completing the first basketball court it built at the IDP camp as well as build more sporting facilities while organizing competitions at the camp.
Our Senior Correspondent reports that the event saw under 10-18 teams from Divine Speed Basketball Academy and Peace Basketball Academy both from Warri, Delta State, featuring in exciting games.
The IDP Camp Coordinator and Supervisor, Pst. Solomon Folorunsho and Pst. Evelyn Onigie respectively, commended OJC Cares Foundation for the kind gesture, noting that the camp has 3,000 IDPs and appealed for more support to carter for the Internally Displaced Persons.
High point of the competition was presentation of OJC Cares Foundation books to the IDPs by founder of OJC Cares Foundation and members of his team.
