The National Association of Itsekiri Students, NAIS penultimate weekend organized the 2018 edition of its annual convention in Warri, Delta State to mark their cultural week and celebrate the yuletide in a grand style.

In his welcome address on behalf of the association, the National President, National Association of Itsekiri Students, NAIS, Comrade Esimaje Richard Ejueyitsi showered encomium on the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Comrade Collins Edema, one of Delta State House of Assembly candidates for Warri South-West Constituency, Mr. Andrew Igban, President of  Itsekiri National Youths Council, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro as well as other distinguished Itsekiris for their support towards the growth of NAIS.

Comrade Ejueyitsi appealed to Itsekiris in positions of authority, both in government and private sector to assist the students’ body through provision of scholarships, educational development materials as well as other forms of support, adding that if much welfare attention is given to Itsekiri students, it will reposition them for better future.

The Itsekiri students’ leader charged Itsekiri students to shun “vote selling” and cast their ballot for candidates who have openly exhibited Itsekiri interest, just as he cautioned his fellow students not to trade off Itsekiri interest for personal gains as they approach the 2019 elections.
