A soldier and four other passengers including driver of a public transport bus have died in auto crash in Warri, Delta State.
The accident which occurred at NPA Expressway by the bridge, opposite Jad Catering Company in Warri Delta State was allegely caused by a over-speeding-jeep that hit the public transport bus when it stopped to drop a passenger near the bridge.
The accident according to eye witness who spoke to Fresh Angle International said the accident occurred around the wee hour of Saturday December 29 involving a bus with registration number: Delta PTN 442 XA, adding that the occupant of the highlander jeep and others who sustained injuries were said to have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan who was present at the accident scene has advised motorists to shun over speeding and obey traffic rules .
Our Senior Correspondent reports that Mr. Uduaghan described the incident as tragic and assured of carrying out further investigation to avert such reoccurance.
He noted that the Delta State Ministry of Transport won't condole any act of recklessness on the road by motorists and commuters, adding that the Ministry of Transport is ready to carry out massive campaigns by erecting road signs, carrying out continuous sensitization of all road users during and after the Yuletide.
