PVC collection begins January 16 at Registration Areas


Collection of Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs will commence Wednesday January 16 at Registration Areas, RA (ward level) and runs through January 20, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has revealed.

 

INEC Electoral Officer for Warri South Local Government Area, Eze J. Uchechukwu, made the disclosure in Warri, Friday January 11, during the inaugural meeting of Warri South Inter- Agency Advisory Committee on Voter Education and Publicity, WSICVEP.

 

Mr. Uchechukwu who stressed that intensive and sustained voter education are instrumental to the success of the forthcoming February 16 and March 2 polls, explained that apart from reviewing the existing framework and advising INEC on areas of improvement, WSICVEP is expected to among other responsibilities, assist in the design and provision of materials for voter education as well as their distribution and dissemination to target groups.

 

The commission while acknowledging that the task of enlightening and educating the citizens on the process of electioneering cannot be effectively undertaken singlehandedly by one or two agencies, decided to establish the Inter- Agency Advisory Committee on Voter Education and Publicity.

 

Fresh Angle International can report that Warri South Inter- Agency Advisory Committee on Voter Education and Publicity, WSICVEP, comprises of INEC Electoral Officer for Warri South, National Orientation Agency, Warri South Local Government Council Chief Information Officer, Mr. Ebule Anthony Metsese, NYSC, LGA youth leader, Executive Secretary of Local Education Authority, Warri South, Women Development Officer for Warri South Council, NCWS, CAN, NUJ, NLC and INEC Assistant Electoral Officer, Admin, who will serve as secretary.
