How police rescued woman 7 days after she was abducted
Wreckage of the demolished storey building

It’s no longer news that an unidentified woman abducted by gunmen around Bendel Estate area in Effurun, Delta was rescued on Tuesday April 30 by men of the Nigeria Police force in Warri 7 days after her abduction, but the clue that led to her release may not have been told after all.

Fresh Angle investigation reveals that a member of the kidnap gang identified simply as Eriga out of sympathy gave his mobile phone to the woman to call her husband to come and pick her. A surprised move which she promptly acted on and smartly described the area where the kidnappers kept her to her husband.

The unidentified woman’s husband immediately called the Area Commander of the Nigeria Police, Warri, who in turn mobilized his men to the abductors den, a one-story building at Odibo Street, behind Holy Crest Schools, Warri.

Fresh Angle gathered that the policemen, who stormed the area where the woman had been shouting that she was kidnapped to the hearing of people within, went strength to a welder’s shop owned by Lucky, the kidnap gang leader under the one-storey building where she was kept. They immediately arrested one of the abductors, Eriga who was with the woman, while the kidnap kingpin known as Lucky and his mother popularly called Madam Delta immediately fled the area.

Incensed by the development, some officials of Delta State government and policemen from the Area Command in Warri again stormed the kidnappers den Wednesday May 1 and completely demolished the one-storey building, while some of the tenants of the building were allegedly arrested and others scampered for safety.

As at the time of filing this report, the where-about of Lucky and his mother who hails from Agbarho in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State was unknown.
