A 17-year old teenager identified simply as Israel was on Sunday May 12 electrocuted to death by a high tension PHCN cable at Pipeline road, off Afiesere road in Ughelli, Delta State, Fresh Angle can exclusively report.
Fresh Angle gathered that Israel went out to pick a PHCN cable which fell on the ground and placed it on a rod unknowingly after PHCN interrupted same day. Thirty minutes later, it was discovered by a relative of Israel that the PHCN cable was placed on a rod.
Fresh Angle gathered that in an attempt to reposition the cable by Israel, PHCN restored electricity in the area while he was holding the cable which led to his electrocution.
An eyewitness told Fresh Angle that unsuccessful attempts were made to save Israel by his parents and sympathizers.
Our Senior Correspondent who was at the scene of the incident reports that Israel died at about 3pm same day.
