Delta State Police Command has confirmed that four passengers are still missing in the boat conveying 22 passengers, three policemen and 19 members of Ebrohimi Community in Warri North Local Government Area, who were returning to Koko Jetty after yesterday’s Governorship/ House of Assembly elections.
Fresh Angle International can report that the boat reportedly capsized at about 0120hours along the water way at Ureju Community, also in Warri North Local Government Area.
According to a statement by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, ASP CHUKS ORISEWEZIE, 18 passengers, including three policemen and 15 natives were successfully rescued, while two of the rescued passengers have been rushed to the Oghara General Hospital.
The statement stressed that no INEC official or NYSC member was involved in the boat mishap as earlier rumored, even as search for the missing passengers was still in progress as at the time of this report.
