You are a pathological liar- Kogi NLC Tells Bello over non payment of salary

The Kogi State  Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Onuh Edoka has described the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaj Yahaya Bello "as a pathological liar",

Edoka made the statement in a meeting held at Government House Wednesday May 22.

Fresh Angle International reports that the meeting was at the instant of the government to resolve some grey areas bordering on workers welfare.

Comrade Edoka had told the governor that he took exception to the nomenclature of the meeting that he was on a courtesy call, saying he wouldn't pay courtesy call on the governor when his members are dying of hunger.

The Chairman decried the statement credited to Governor Bello that he was not owing workers salaries and if at all he was owing, it was the salary backlog left for him by the administration of captain Idris Wada.

He said he could not believed his ears and eyes when he saw the governor live on national television denying that he is  not owing Kogi workers a dime .

He added that he thought what the Governor's Aides  were saying about salaries were just a joke, stressing that for the governor who knows he was owing huge salaries to come to deny publicly, should  not be trusted.

" I thought what some of his aides were saying was a joke. Not until the Governor  confirmed his Aides statement at the Northern governors meeting held in Kaduna recently that he is up to date in salary payment. Let me put the records straight. The former governor Captain Idris Ichalla Wada spent 48 months in office and he paid 45 months salaries leaving allocation of December 2015  and January 2016 for the Bello administration to access. Nothing is farther from the truth than this. The truth is that Bello is hugely indebted to Kogi workers and he should find a means to defray it rather than lying to the public", he stated.

He advise  the Governor to set up committee to go round some establishments  to find out the true situation of poverty across the State, hinting that pupils and students could no longer go to schools, patients cannot access drugs even as petty businesses have closed due to lack of patronage.

Bello who was stunned by the confidence of the labour Chairman to tell  the truth to his face admitted to work out modalities to resolve the impasse.

He told the organised labour that his government has done much with the lean resources to develop the State, adding that in less than three years he built  Kogi Board of Internal Revenue Service office complex a s complete Ankpa township roads etc.

Bello called on the leadership of the organised labour to support his administration for the dividend of democracy.

Meanwhile , a mild drama ensured between the Journalists and the governor's Aides who forcibly seized the camera of the photo journalists and television cameramen who were covering the proceedings ostensibly to gag reportage.
