How our action led to woman’s death – Police

The Police in Delta State have revealed how the action of its men on patrol team at Igbiki Junction, Ovwian-Aladja in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, led to the painful death of one Mrs. Ughochukwu Grace Dabo.

In a statement sent to Your Soaring International Tabloid in the early hours of Tuesday, July 23, the Delta Stat Police Command, claimed that Mrs. Ughochukwu Dabo was driving home in-company of her 11 year old daughter, Dabo Oghenenyerhovwo Evon in her Toyota Sienna Space Bus, with Reg. No. AGL 822 EY, when she was intercepted by Police Patrol team at Igbiki Junction, Ovwian-Aladja and, “when she could not produce the vehicle documents on demand by the police, the vehicle was impounded and taken to the Police Station for further investigation”.

The statement credited to the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, continued, “while the woman was left at the scene having refused (SIC) to go along with the Policemen to the station. On the same night, at about 2105hrs, her husband, one Mr. Benjamin Dabo, later reported to the DPO at the station that while the woman was on her way with her daughter in a commercial tricycle they boarded, she was attacked, robbed and shot dead by a three-man Armed Robbery Gang, operating with same tricycle, unknowingly boarded by her, but her 11-year old daughter survived the attack and escaped unhurt. She (the deceased daughter) was able to narrate how her mother was killed by men of the underworld, who are yet to be arrested”.

Curiously, the narrative by the Delta State Police Command, painted a rare picture of vehicle owner who surprisingly decided not to follow a police patrol team that went away with her vehicle and choose to stay back, not minding where the vehicle purportedly impounded, was taken to.
