Udu Local Government Area in Delta State, may be embroiled in fresh crisis, over alleged decision by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, to build a Flow Station in Ogbe-Udu Community (a non-oil producing community) instead of Emadadja Community, where NPDC has carried out oil exploration activities for the past 35 years, “without any acrimony”.
Your Respected International Tabloid, understands that the Governing Council of Emadadja Community in Udu Local Government Area, had petitioned the Managing Director of NPDC to rescind the planned location of the said Flow Station outside Emadadja or face evacuation of its equipment, including, “their Christmax Tress from Emadadja Community”.
The petition signed by Mr. Daniel K. Ovedje and Mr. Tode Emmanuel, President-General and General-Secretary, respectively, of the Governing Council of Emadadja Community, described NPDC’s move as, “an oppression and injustice”, “against the standard and practice of oil companies, NPDC inclusive”.
Emadadja Community declared that NPDC, “should as a matter of urgency, commence building the Flow Station in our community without further delay”, warning: “Any attempt by NPDC to shift ground, would be highly resisted by elders, youths, women and our sons and daughters in Diaspora, even unborn children will defend it with our last blood”.
