In an apparent bid to tackle the infrastructural decay inpublic schools across its locality, the Okere Community Development Committee,CDC, Ugbuwangue in Warri South local government area of Delta Statehas donated a fully functional water project and pieces of furniture to fourschools.
Making the presentation recently, Chairman of Okere CDC, Hon.Afesoma Ogharandukun-Sharta explained that her leadership was touched by theplight of the pupils/students when they visited the affected schools and foundthe pupils learning on bare floor.
She commended authorities of the affected schools for theirdedication and promised to continually support the schools within availableresources.
Secretary of the CDC, Hon. Derby Hans who spoke in the same vein,enjoined the benefiting schools to make judicious use of the structures,stressing that the CDC will not relent in its effort at ensuring conducivelearning environment for public schools within its locality.
Fresh Anglecan exclusively report that the water project and pieces of furniture is put atover 4 million naira.
While Agbeje Primary and Basic School Ugbuwangue got a waterproject, Alders Town,Ikengbuwa and Ogedegbe Primary schools receivedpieces of furniture.
The Okere CDC which only recently donated storage facilitiesto Ugbuwangue health centre is one of the 12 CDCs established by Delta Stategovernment in the 3 Warri local government areas to facilitate development atthe grassroots.
