Aja-Etan, host to NNPC subsidiaries get new executive

A new executive to pilot the affairs of Aja-Etan, a community in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State for the next three years was Saturday June 20 sworn-in by head (Olare-Aja) of the community, Pa. Richard Ejegi.

Aja-Etan is one of the host communities to Warri Refining and Petro Chemical Company, WRPC, Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC and Pipeline Product Marketing Company, PPMC, all subsidiaries of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

Performing the swearing-in at the community town hall, Aja-Etan Pa. Richard Ejegi admonished the new Chairman of the Community, Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe to put the community first in all his dealings and ensure he carries everyone along during his tenure.

Pa. Ejegi commended the immediate past Chairman of the community, Mr. Alfred Edon for his contribution towards the development of Aja-Etan and enjoined indigenes of the community to support the new leadership.

The newly sworn-in Chairman, Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe in his remark, pledged that his administration will operate an open door policy, promising to make sure everybody is carried along in the quest to ensure all-round development of Aja-Etan.

While advising members of his executive to imbibe the spirit of selfless service, Mr. Agbeyegbe cautioned people of Aja-Etan to shun rumour mongering capable of affecting development of the community.

According to him, Aja-Etan was founded by Prince Ewoluetan Okunuwa, popularly known as the Otolu Remure (Prince of Remure) alias Olufuaghofen, the father of Ewoluetan, the son of Erejuwa I, fifteenth Olu of Warri Kingdom.

He further revealed that Okunuwa’s mother is from Eloko lineage of Ugborodo, Warri South-West Local Government Area, while Ewoluetan’s mother hails from the popular Oshorun family of Egbokodo in Warri South, Delta State.

Solomon Igbiaye-Organizing Secretary, Thompson Uweaja-Assisting Organizing Secretary, Perkins Ejegi-Assistant Financial Secretary, Roland Ejegi-Provost and Mrs. Dorothy Aritetsoma-Woman Leader.
