The Delta State Police Command has described a report by Vanguard Newspaper of Wednesday March 8 with the headline “Helicopter delivers supplies to herdsmen in Delta Community” as “false, baseless, reckless and misleading”.
The Command in a release signed by its Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, stated , “unequivocally that a though enquiry conducted, following the purported claim credited to the member representing Ethiope East in Delta State House of Assembly, revealed the claim as highlighted in the report to be false, baseless, reckless and misleading”.
According to the release which was made available to Fresh Angle International on Monday March 13, “the Ovre-Abraka”, a forest reserve area is temporarily inhabited by “a minimal number of herdsmen who have been living peacefully with the community”.
