Police tracks gang snatching tricycles in Delta
Suspects John Otomewo Wisdom Jeresa and the recovered tricycles


Following recurring incidences of tricycle theft in Warri ,Effurun ,Ughelli and other major towns in Delta ,the Delta State Police Command acting  on a tip off have arrested one John Otomewo and Wisdom Jeresa, while efforts are being stepped up to apprehend other members of the gang identified simply as Felix,  Emma and Gabo, all males.

According to a release by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, detectives from ‘B’ Division Warri arrested the said John Otomewo of number “3 Okwudemor  Airport Road, Warri, while he was arranging to sell one tricycle without registration number but with Engine number OK4FE4103279 and Chassis number MDGM14PK74F78184”.

The suspect reportedly admitted on interrogation of being member of a robbery gang that specializes in snatching of tricycles in Warri, Effurun and Ughelli areas.

The police statement added that John Otomewo mentioned his gang members “as one Wisdom Jeresa of Ekpan, Felix, Emma and Gabo, surnames unknown”. It was gathered that he led the police detectives to Enhwe in Isoko South Local Government Area of the State where two snatched tricycles with “Nil Registration numbers, Engine number OK4DD1128070, Chassis number MD6M14PK6D4D92392, Engine number OK4AE1045353 and Chassis number MD6M14PK2E4A37172 respectively, were recovered”

The second hoodlum, Wisdom Jeresa of 28 Dumolor Street, Ekpan was arrested at Niger Cat area in Effurun and he also led detectives to Adeje in Okpe Local Government Area, also of Delta State to recover a fourth snatched tricycle with registration number SAP 483 QA after the first one without registration number, but with Engine number OK4FE4103279 and Chassis number MDGM14PK78184 was recovered from Otomewo.

Fresh Angle International can also report that some tricycle documents were found at the residence of the prime suspect, John Otomewo during police search and one of the victims of the tricycle theft has already been contacted at 3 Battalion, Nigerian Army Barracks ,Effurun ,Delta State.
