Suspects released, planning to attack Ogidigben afresh, Ugborodo indigenes allege

Indigenes of Ugborodo Federated Communities in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, say suspects that were arrested by security agencies for allegedly attacking Ogidigben on December 20, 2025, April 6 and 7, 2026, are planning to attack Ogidigben and other Ugborodo Federated Communities afresh, following their controversial release from detention. 

 

                       

Fresh Angle International, can report that they raised the alarm Tuesday June 30, during a protest at Ogidigben, Ugborodo in Warri South-West Local Government Area.

The protesting Ugborodo indigenes, carried banners and placards with inscriptions, such as “DG DSS Please order your men in Delta State to Produce those Persons arrested by the Nigerian Army with Arms and Ammunition in Ogidigben Community in April, Which they have been released without arrangement in court” “You Cannot Pilot the Affairs of Ugborodo from Warri”Hold DSS Responsible for Breakdown of Law and Order in Ogidigben and Ugborodo” “DSS must Provide those Arrested with Illegal Arms and Ammunition by Nigeria Army in Ogidigben” “Those released and others at Large are planning another Deadly attack on Ogidigben and Ugborodo” “We are not safe in Ogidigben and Ugborodo“Governor Sheriff Help us ask the DSS in your State the whereabouts of those carrying Arms in Ogidigben in April” “Those Released by the DSS and others are in Yokri and Ogulagha planning another attack on our community” and “Ugborodo is a Federated Community under the Leadership of the Eghare-Aja and Olaja-Orori, nobody can change”.

Addressing newsmen during the protest, the Vice Chairman of Ugborodo Community Management Committee, UCMC, Elder Austine Ajurenmisan, stated that some men armed with four AK47 riffles and other kinds of ammunition, who were arrested for attacking Ogidigben thrice and handed over to security agencies, were seen on social media platforms, threatening to attack Ogidigben afresh.

Ajurenmisan, who is also the Public Relations Officer of Ogidigben Community, called on the Delta State government, the DSS and other Military formations to investigate the controversial release of the suspects, saying people of Ugborodo can no longer sleep in their community as a result of fear of possible attack.

“Some persons in the community, have been receiving calls that they will be killed whenever they are seen by those who were arrested and released. The attackers have been saying they will attack the community before the commissioning of the electricity supply installed, vowing that the commissioning cannot take place on their behalf”, Ajurenmisan, told newsmen.

The Assistant National Youth Secretary of Ugborodo Federated Communities, Mr. Iyonsi Jerry and the Women leader of Ugborodo Community Trust, Mrs. Caroline Ekuajemi, spoke in the same vein.
