Shun indiscipline or face dismissal, CP warns counter terrorist cops

The Commissioner of Police In-Charge of Counter Terrorist Unit, CTU, Force Headquarters, Abuja, CP Etop John James has warned Officers and Men of Counter Terrorist Unit of the Nigeria Police Force to shun indiscipline or face dismissal.

The CP gave the warning Wednesday June 21 during a visit to the CTU Delta Base 5 in Jeddo, which covers Delta, Edo and Bayelsa States.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the visit is part of the tour of various formations of CTU across the country to ascertain areas of need of Counter Terrorist Officers and Men as well as to assure them of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim’s recognition and support.

He admonished the Officers and Men of the unit to embrace Information and Communication Technology, ICT as well as make use of it positively, noting that over-dependence on crude oil is not doing the country much good.

The Police CTU Boss assured the Officers and Men under his unit of the IGP support at all times.

While applauding them for their gallantry and excellent performance, CP James enjoined them to continually discharge their duties professionally.

He commended the wives of Officers/Men of Delta Base 5 for steadfast support to their husbands, friends and relations, urging them to sustain it.

Earlier in his remark, the Counter Terrorist Unit Commander of Delta Base 5, CSP Ibrahim Jibrin, noted that the safety of his Officers/Men are his priority, hence he ensures they have good rest after duty.

CSP Jibrin thanked CP James for the visit and appealed to him to relay their challenges to the IGP for the necessary action to be taken regarding their welfare.

He admonished CTU Cops to be mindful of their diet in order to be combat ready as well as healthy at all times.

High points of the visit was a lecture delivered by the CP. James, cultural dance by Officers/Men of the Base 5, the introduction of the Unuevwero of Jeddo Community, Comrade Bayagbon and the solidarity support by the community.
