OLOGBOTSERE TITLE: We followed due process, family scribe replies Diare-Omasan Descendants
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli

Secretary-General of the Ologbotsere Family of Warri Kingdom, Pa. Anukun has refuted allegation by Diare-Omasan descendants that due process was not followed in arriving at the choice of who becomes the next Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, saying it took the family almost nine months to arrive at the choice of the two preferred candidates before forwarding same to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli.

The Ologbotsere family scribe who gave the clarification in response to a letter addressed to Pa. Oporokun which was dated September 28, 2017 and signed by Pa. G. K. Boyo, Pa. G.A. Buwa and Sir. E.K Gbragada, stressed that the entire process had “the consent of all the family heads”.

Fresh Angle International can report that the Diare-Omasan Descendants´ Union Central Body had in a petition accused the head (Olori-Ebi) of the Ologbotsere Descendants, Pa. Higson Oporokun of deliberate bias against them, by refusing to summon a meeting where the matter would be properly thrashed out.

The petition copied the Olu of Warri Palace and the five relevant families of the Ologbotsere descendants.

Diare-Omasan family accused Pa. Higson Oporokun of declining or refusing to call for the said meeting as allegedly directed by His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri, even “after several delegation has met with him to pressure him on the need to summon the crucial meeting where other candidates would emerge”.

The letter entitled: “A letter of reminder for the selection of an Ologbotsere designate of Warri kingdom” noted that after several promises to call the meeting, “no notice of meeting had been sent out till date”.

The petition reads inter-alia, “your action is a deliberate attempt to deprive us the Diare-Omasan descendants the opportunity to present our candidate to the entire Ologbotsere descendants for this position”.
