The leadership crisis that plagued Chevron established Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC since 2015 was Wednesday November 22 laid to rest as a 10-man executive led by Amb. Austine Oniyesan was inaugurated at the IRDC Secretariat in Warri, Delta State by prominent Warri Chief, Thomas Ereyitomi.

While noting that IRDC is not “a place to share money” as being misconstrued, Chief Emami advised those writing petitions against the leadership of the development committee to desist forthwith in the interest of Itsekiri Nation “because no one can eat IRDC money based on the structural model it was founded on”.

He thanked Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Chief Francis Omatseye and Hon. Michael Diden for their roles in the resolution of the IRDC leadership crisis.

Chief Thomas Ereyitomi on his part, lamented the loss Itsekiri Nation suffered while the crisis lasted and stressed the need for the Austine Oniyesan executive to represent the larger interest of Itsekiri people in the course of their new assignment.
