A Non-Governmental Organization, OJC Cares Foundation says it is poised to discover young athletes from secondary schools in Delta State and improve the living standard of the down-trodden in the society.
President/Founder of OJC Cares Foundation, Comrade Omagbemi Jemine Charles who gave the explanation weekend in Warri during the 1st OJC Cares Athletics Championship which held at the Warri City stadium, decried the lack of athletics competition among secondary schools in Delta State and the country at large.
He enjoined youths to register with the foundation to learn basic athletics skills and noted that the youth championship was aimed at discovering and nurturing upcoming athletes.
Comrade Omagbemi quipped that OJC Cares Foundation has three affiliate clubs: OJC Cares Boxing Club, OJC Cares Basketball Club and OJC Cares Volleyball Club, all for budding athletes.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the maiden athletics championship which featured more than 10 secondary schools in Warri South Local Government and Isoko North Local Government Area was won by Uwangue College, Warri, while College of Commerce and Nana College, both in Warri, emerged second and third respectively.
Other secondary schools in Warri that participated in the one day championship include Dore Numa College, Essi College, Yonwuren College and Hussey College.
Events such as High jump, shot put, 1,500 metres race, 1,000 metres heat, 700 metres and 100 metres race for both male and female were competed for, even as Ofoku Praise of College of Commerce clinched the 100 metres dash for female.
Other winners are: Iyaede Vivian (Uwangue College) Oghenejobor Akpesiri (Essi College) Owhowayirue Ejuvwevwo, Sheme Kelvin, Adams Oghenesuvwe and Anthony Obinna.
Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Barr. Omasan Agbajoh and Mercy Cheke, were among dignitaries that admonished the young athletes at the event.
