Rhumble in DESOPADEC over inquest by Mofe Pirah

Tongues are wagging in Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC over alleged request by one of the newly appointed commissioners, Mr. Omamofe Joseph Pirah to initiate an inquest into the administrative and financial procedures he inherited on assumption of duty.                                   

Mr. Pirah who was pioneer substantive chairman of Chevron established Itsekiri Regional Development Committee,IRDC as well as two -time Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas,was purportedly unsatisfied with existing financial and administrative procedures presented to him,hence allegedly took the issue up with the Managing Director of the commission, Olorogun William Makinde for clarity.

But the DESOPADEC MD reportedly told Mr. Pirah that he wasn't answerable to him and directed him to channel his inquiry to the immediate past commissioner that represented Itsekiri ethnic Nationality in the board of the commission, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi.

Incidentally, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi is the PDP Candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections.                               
Efforts to get the view of Mr. Pirah on the development was tacitly rebuffed as he described it as an internal issue, not meant for press.                           

The extended tenure of the current board of DESOPADEC chaired by Hon. Godwin Ebosa is expected to terminate February 2019, if the state government doesn't not use the instrumentality of Delta State House of Assembly to once again extend it till after the 2019 polls.                            
It will be recalled that Mr. Omamofe Pirah,Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, Hon. Daniel Mayuku and Chief Thomas Ereyitomi contested for the October 3 Warri Federal Constituency PDP ticket after the latter resigned his position as commissioner in DESOPADEC.
