IRDC pays outstanding scholarships


 

Chairman of the IRDC Communications Sub Committee, Oti Edukugho, Esq. has revealed that outstanding secondary and tertiary schools scholarships from 2013/2014 academic session to 2014/2015 have been paid.  

The IRDC Communication Sub Committee Chairman who dropped this hint during a chat with members of the committee, stated that for the 2013/2014 academic session, 129 students from tertiary institutions benefitted, while 206 students in secondary school category were paid their outstanding scholarship arrears for six academic sessions.

Edukugho who spoke on behalf of IRDC Chairman, Amb. Oniyesan, noted that for the 2014/2015 academic session, 116 students in tertiary institutions and 166 others in secondary school, received four years backlog of their scholarship payments.


While noting that the leadership of IRDC always verify the authenticity of the students before making payments, Edukugho disclosed that arrangement is in top gear for fresh beneficiaries to be selected from the 23 IRDC communities for 2015/2016 academic session scholarship scheme.
