Court sentences Abdullaahi to Prison over unlawful possession of fire-arms


The Federal High Court, Lokoja, presided over by Justice D.U. Okorowo, has reportedly sentenced one Mr. Richard John Abdullaahi, to 18 months in prison with hard labour, for unlawfully possessing fire-arms.

                                                       

The Kogi State Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, Alex Agiri, made the disclosure in a statement issued today, Tuesday October 29.

 

 

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that Agiri explained that the command arrested the convict, when they were on routine patrol beside Mountain of Fire Church Phase II in Lokoja.

 

 

The NSCDC Image Maker stated that, Abdullaahi pleaded not guilty when he was charged under miscellaneous offence act, during cross examination by NSCDC counsel, E.S Onu.

 

 

The judgment was reportedly delivered October 24.

 

 

Agiri added that, the Kogi State Command of NSCDC, remains committed towards protecting critical infrastructures, stressing that, they will continue to collaborate with other security agencies in the task of protecting lives and properties in Confluence State.
