Arueyingho led Exco, begins administration of Itsekiri Students’ affairs

The first female elected President of National Association of Itsekiri Students, NAIS, worldwide, Miss Oritsetserundede Arueyingho and members of her executive, have begun the administration of Itsekiri students’ affairs, following their inauguration Sunday February 2.

 

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the National Adviser/ Patron of NAIS, Sir Amorighoye S. Mene, who performed the inauguration at the Secretariat of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG in Ugbori, Warri, commended NAIS electoral committee as well as the students for their peaceful display and described what they did as democracy at work.

Sir Mene, who is also the Secretary of Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILOT, charged the students to remain good ambassadors of Itsekiri Nation and exhibit patriotism wherever they reside.

 

While assuring the leadership of the Itsekiri students’ body of his continuous support, Sir Mene reminded them of the need to abide by the constitution of NAIS in the discharge of their duties.

 

President/CEO of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Worldwide, Comrade Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, in his remarks, urged the Arueyingho leadership to shun cultism, stressing that anyone involved will face the hammer of the law.

 

Comrade Oritsetserundede Arueyingho, who spoke on behalf of the new NAIS executive, appreciated Sir Amorighoye Mene, Comrade Collins Edema and members of NAIS for their support, promising to take the students’ body to enviable heights.

 

Comrade Arueyingho restated her desire to promote the speaking of Itsekiri Language by students and the introduction of 'Itsekiri 101’ in various chapters of NAIS.

 

She also promised to collaborate with the Warri Traditional Council and Non- Governmental Organizations, NGOs, with a view to attracting scholarships for Itsekiri undergraduates.
