Ojougboh bags continental distinguished Personality Award

The Executive Director of Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh on Saturday evening received the Soldiers of Truth Advocacy Incorporated's "Continental Distinguished Personality" award 2020 in recognition of his Honesty of Purpose, reforms and innovations that have repositioned the almost dead Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. 

Continental Coordinator of the Jet Age Nation Builders, Ambassador Young Piero, while presenting the award on behalf of The Face of Jet Age Nation Builders and Brand Ambassador India- Rwanda, Ms. Neysa Sanghavi to Dr. Ojougboh, said his appointment as member Interim Management Committee to oversee the NDDC Forensic Audit as approved by President Muhammadu Buhari, was a well thought out idea as only people of untainted character, courage and honesty can clean the rot in the Commission. He stressed that though public service could be a thankless job, it takes a combination of patriotic zeal, brilliance and integrity for a public servant to make a mark. Sir, "this award is presented to you this day because you have distinguished yourself in patriotism, brilliance and integrity".

Receiving the award, Dr. Ojougboh, thanked the International Organization for beaming their searchlight from far away Rwanda to find him worthy of the award and recognize his little contributions to the repositioning of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC and the advancement of the Nigerian course. Dr. Ojougboh re-echoed that the country, Nigeria would fare better with more purpose-driven public servants and Soldiers of truth who will work assiduously for the betterment of the people and the country.

Dr. Ojougboh, who commended President Muhammadu Buhari, for his great concern for the people of the Niger Delta region and for finding him and others worthy to serve gave a brief insight on the activities of the Forensic Audit Committee since assumption of office few months ago. He said the committee is presently verifying projects across the nine NDDC states. According to him, this verification exercise has becomes necessary to get things right for the people, the Commission and the country due to many ‘fake ’ Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) being claimed by contractors. "All these should be corrected now to chart the way forward for the commission and to build a formidable platform for the incoming board".

Soldiers of Truth Advocacy Incorporated is a platform for young Africans, detribalized, non- political, intelligent and emerging African leaders to network, share ideas and engage productively in civic activities that chart the course for a new Africa.
