Stallion Group commissions New Library for THS

Chief Executive Officer of Stallion Empowerment Initiative, an arm of the Stallion Group International, Mr. Sahil Vaswani, has commissioned an ultra-modern library complex stocked with over 10,000 books and addition of an e-library for use of the Technical High School located in Udu, Delta State with a promise to continue to encourage the School to maintain her top position in all academic activities in Nigeria.

 

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony weekend, Mr. Vaswani who was accompanied by his sister, Sarina Vaswani and the CEO of Stallion Group, Mr. Anant Badjitya among others, disclosed that with the intervention of the Stallion Group Initiative, Premium Steel and Mines Limited, originally called, Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja, was poised to impact on the Nigeria economy positively in the area of job creation, human capital development and corporate social responsibility to the host communities, which he added was a continuous process designed to promote the good of the society.

 

He disclosed that the Stallion Empowerment Initiative was working hard to ensure the Technical High School becomes a world-class institution whose students can face any challenge in the world.

 

He added that the company was designing many social intervention programme for youth empowerment, encouragement of farmers and making life more meaningful for rural dwellers particularly those in the host Udu Communities.

 

CEO of Stallion Group, Mr. Anant Badjatya, in his remarks at the ceremony, disclosed that there had been tremendous improvement in the production of steel at the plant, as the company was employing competent hands from time to time as the need arose, stressing that with the new equipment and facilities procured and installed in the Premium Hospital, the facility was wearing a new look so as to deliver more excellent services to the society.

He added that the hospital and the schools were going to receive additional boost from time to time beside the 400KVA generator earlier donated to THS and another 47KVA generator for the Premium Hospital, a brand new Ambulance and an X-Ray machine, which he added has transformed the hospital to one of the best in the country.

 

Principal of the Premium, DSC, Technical High School, Mr. J. E. Sido, in his remarks commended the Stallion Group for the intervention and provision of the new and well stocked Library which he said was going to avail the students the opportunity of accessing books and other reading materials without stress ‘’not just for academic knowledge but books and other reading materials that would expose them to the rest of the world. The commitment and fascination by the management of Stallion Group, Stallion Empowerment Initiative and Premium Steel and Mines Limited, to building and subsequently furnishing a modern-day library for the school has stirred up a burning desire for the maximum use of this beautiful edifice by students and staff of the school’’, he added.

 

Mr. Sido disclosed that beside the excellent performance of the school in the 2020 Science Olympiad in Delta State, the school has again won the First position in the just concluded Spelling Bee organized for schools in Delta State by Cowbell Milk.

 

Also speaking at the ceremony, General Manager, Estate Services of Premium Steel and Mines limited, Mr. Austin Adiri noted that with the level of investment in the plant and the company hospital and schools, Stallion Group have demonstrated unparallel commitment towards revamping the plant and its ancillary business interests and that it was now left to staff to reciprocate by continuing on the realm of excellence for which the company was associated with from the beginning so as to justify the huge investment by the owners.
