Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ikechukwu Ayodele Aduba has revealed that the state police command arrested 31 armed robbers as well as recovered 140 fire arms and ammunition within the last two weeks.
The Delta CP dropped the hint Monday December 30 at the government office annexe in Warri in a press briefing shortly after a security meeting presided over by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
According to Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, Delta State is a flash-point hence his officers and men are on 24- hour patrol to rid the state of criminals.
While noting that his command is tackling street cultism headlong, CP Aduba disclosed that some cultists have been arrested at Otu-Jeremi axis in Ughelli South Local Government, while more than two AK 47 riffles were recovered from the cultists.
Mr. Aduba averred that his command will soon set up a committee to monitor cattle rearers in order to check them from being used as shield by kidnappers in the state.
He also disclosed that his command has made inter-state collaboration with Edo and Anambra States as part of strategies aimed at checking criminal activities within Delta State.
