Okhuoromi Community in Oredo local government area in Edo State, has suspended a youth association headed by one Peter Osama Erese over cult related crisis which led to the loss of several lives, burning of 10 houses as well as 20 cars in November 2013, Our Benin City Correspondent reports
The Odionwere (head) of the community, Pa. John Edosomwan told Fresh Angle that a peace, reconstruction and rehabilitation committee headed by Mr. James Igbinovia will oversee the youth wing for the next three months.
Meanwhile, the Community Development Association Chairman, CDA Hon. Osagie Edosomwan said the fracas that occurred last year only involved the youth wing and not the CDA as reported in some quarters of the media.
The Chairman however urged all residents; developers as well as prospective land developers to go about their business, stressing that peace has since returned to the community few weeks after the fracas broke out.
