A Youth leader in Omadino Community, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Joshua Ghereje, says Pa. Samuel Ekpoto, is the recognized Olare-Aja (Oldest Man) of the oil-rich Omadino Community.

Ghereje who is the Public Relations Officer, PRO, of Omadino Youth Executive, in a statement released today, Thursday May 14, asserted that Pa. Ekpoto was presented as Olare-Aja of Omadino publicly almost a year ago at the community ancestral Nenuwa Town Hall, during a ceremony, “graced by people from different parts of the state”.

He wondered why some group of persons from Otumara Quarters of the Community, who purportedly grouped themselves secretly at Ogwan in Otumara Quarters, “would commit a sacrilege of attempting to install another Olare-Aja, when Pa. Ekpoto is still alive”, noting: “nobody has the power to install Olare-Aja in any Itsekiri community, it is not done and cannot be done.”

Ghereje enjoined those responsible to retrace their steps, warning that such, “illegality is capable of causing division and tension in the community”, just as he, “advised members of the public to ignore the mischief makers”.

“The act is completely wrong and I Comrade Joshua Ghereje, condemn in totality the plan to cause another round of crisis in Omadino Community. The recent show of stupidity and falsehood of some poor thinking individuals, whose plan has always been to cause harm and unrest in Omadino Community, has taken a different dimension and should not be taken lightly", he stressed.

He appealed to the Delta State Government, Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies, to call those responsible to order, in order to avert lawlessness in Omadino.
