Itsekiri graduates condemn alleged brutalization, dehumanization of EGTL workers
NAIG Executive

Itsekiri graduates under the aegis of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG have strongly condemned the incident that occurred at EGTL Escravos Saturday February 15, 2014, describing it as brutalization, dehumanization and oppression of EGTL workers, particularly those of Itsekiri extraction.

In an electronic mail forwarded exclusively to Fresh Angle,NAIG declared that the alleged brutalization purportedly “carried out by a combined team of the armed forces” was meted out to young Itsekiris, including a pregnant woman who is a member of the association.

The statement which was signed by NAIG National President, Comrade Alero Naomi Tenumah and its Secretary, Comrade Toju Ben demanded the immediate release of all EGTL workers still being held hostage by men of the armed forces.

The statement also demanded that the demands of the protesting workers be met without delay, just as it called on the National Assembly to set up a panel of inquiry to investigate the issue.

While calling on the American envoy to Nigeria to call on the management of Chevron to order, NAIG averred that any form of victimization of the affected EGTL workers will not be accepted by it.
