Exclusive: Itsekiris flay exclusion in Confab

Business

Itsekiris in Delta and Edo States have condemned their exclusion in the delegate list just released for the forthcoming Confab, expressing shock and disbelief that despite being the second largest oil producing ethnic nationality in Nigeria, the Presidency did not deem it fit to consider a single delegate of Itsekiri extraction.

A cross section of Itsekiri leaders, women and youths who bare their frustration to Fresh Angle Friday March 7 in Warri said they are most surprise about the exclusion, especially against the backdrop of the fact that an Itsekiri man, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is the governor of Delta State, while the National President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor who is close to President Goodluck Jonathan is also an Itsekiri.

President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Miss Alero Tenumah in a telephone chat with Fresh Angledecried the exclusion and called on the federal and state governments to address the anomaly before the Confab commences.

Meanwhile, Fresh Angle has scooped that consultations are at advance stage to forward the name of seasoned legal luminary and former commissioner in the defunct OMPADEC, Chief Isaac Jemide to the Presidency as Itsekiri representative in the forthcoming Confab.
