PTI staff bags award

A staff ofthe Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun in DeltaState, Charles Ikedikwa Soeze, masscommunications scholar and Head, Academic and Physical Planning, was recentlyhonoured in Abuja,the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with “Nigerian Selfless Service Gold Award”(NISSGA 2011 edition). 

Presentingthe award on behalf of Our Majesty Global Publications, Barr. (Mrs.) Gift Amadisaid that it was in recognition and appreciation of Soeze’s immensecontributions towards the development of Nigeria through his variouswrite-ups in the media and paper presentations at seminars, conferences amongothers.  

Soeze, whoread mass communication from Bachelor’s degree to Doctoral level promised tocontinue with the same spirit and dedication in order to earn more awards andother relevant things so as to serve the country at a higher level.    He thanked the organization for consideringhim worthy for the award.  

As a writer,the public relations guru cum public affairs analyst has no doubt, written wellover one thousand articles in various newspapers and magazines as well as inlocal and foreign journals all geared towards national unity and development. 

Havingconsistently exhibited courage, zeal, loyalty, and limitless vivacity that donot brook laziness, coupled with high level of intelligence and generosity heis endowed with, Charles Ikedikwa Soeze is a well sort for personality by many organizationswho want him as a member or associate. Few among the relevant organizations include, Nigerian Institute ofPublic Relations (NIPR); Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM); AfricanCouncil for Communications Education (ACCE) for fifty-two African countries;Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ); Institute of Public Administration ofNigeria (IPAN) to mention but a few.  

As the sayinggoes that one must reap the fruits of his labour, the manifestation is not farfetched in the life of this epitome of selfless service as many honours andcommendations continually trail his ways. Few among the multiple awards he has received include, African AgeInternational Magazine Gold Award for Excellence; Vanguard for TransparentLeadership and Democracy Award for his contributions and through publicenlightenment and education; Corporate and Media African Communications LtdMeritorious Diamond Award (MDA); Institute of Human and Natural Resources;Association of Certified Professional Speakers of Nigeria; The CivilianInstitute of Democratic Administration (CIDA), Institute of CorporateAdministration (ICA), etc.  

Part ofactivities marking the ceremony was a lecture titled “Beyond LeadershipQualities for the future generation” delivered by Sir (Amb.) John A.Mokayi  (KSJ).
