The governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan has vowed to continue to strengthen all institutions in the state to ensure greater transparency, probity and acceptability at all levels and this to a large extent will assist in poverty alleviation.

The governorof Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan hasvowed to continue to strengthen all institutions in the state to ensure greatertransparency, probity and acceptability at all levels and this to a largeextent will assist in poverty alleviation.

 

The SpecialAdviser on poverty alleviation to the Governor, Mrs. Ann Chalokwu-Orumade madethe statement recently while addressing newsmen at her country home,Ogwashi-Uku, administrative headquarters of Aniocha South Local GovernmentArea.

 

To this endtherefore, she appealed to all Deltans to make peace the number one priority oftheir daily assignments adding that without peace no government can realize itsobjectives or achieve a happy and productive life for its citizenry.  Her words, “securing our peace and stabilitywill ensure economic growth, prosperity, and encourage foreign investors intothe state for employment opportunities for our youths”. 

 

Mrs.Chalokwu-Orumade also used the opportunity to commend Dr. Uduaghan for thelaunch of 100 brand new Toyota Hiace buses which was geared towardsstrengthening the transport sub-sector. She appealed to Deltans to make judicious use of the vehicles sincethere are parts of effort in cushioning the effect of subsidy removal as wellas poverty alleviation.

 

She urgedDeltans both at home and in the Diaspora irrespective of the political liningsto support Governor Uduaghan’s transformation agenda to ensure the stategovernment’s continued drive for development as this will go a long way toencourage continuity, consistency, and commitment to agreed policies.
