Alleged N930million Diversion: Aginejuone demands AIG takeover of investigation
Mr. Oritseweyinmi Agbonekuya Aginejuone

Chairman of Governing Council of Omadino Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Oritseweyinmi Agbonekuya Aginejuone, has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Zone 5, Zonal Headquarters, Benin City, Edo State, demanding takeover of Criminal Investigation of alleged, “financial diversion, conversion and other financial offences”, to the sum of N930,000,000 (Nine Hundred and Thirty Million Naira) belonging to Omadino, Ifie-Kporo, Uwakeno, Obodo, Aja-Osolo, Ewekwara and Jaluwa Communities.

The petition dated June 10, 2020 and made available to Fresh Angle International Saturday June 13, explained that the demand for the AIG to take-over the investigation, was necessitated by the Investigating Police Officer’s claim in the Anti-Cult Department of the Police Area Command in Warri, wherein he averred that the allegation of diversion of N930,000,000 levelled against one Mr. Charles Omadeli and CONOIL Nigeria Limited, “lacks merit”.

Aginejuone, said the words of the Area Commander, which purportedly states inter-alia: “Causing any investigation amounts to waste of Police resources (extract from the petitioner)”, was another reason he took the case to the AIG.

While stating that he has, “lost all confidence and trust in the Warri Area, Commend and its Officers”, the Omadino Governing Council Chairman, dismissed the allegations of kidnapping and unlawful possession of firearms levelled against Alfred Obiri, Apup Nami, Victor Edun,  Bemigho Nami, Peter Edun, Bright Menekporo and Fredrick Eyangho, saying the aforesaid, “gentlemen”, who were purportedly arrested on the 9th of June by Officers of SARS Asaba, have joined him in the struggle, “from their Ifie-kporo Community.”

While mourning his Father In-law, Pa Fredrick Ewetobireto, who just passed on, the angry Aginejuone declared: “I am battle ready legally, with the necessary statement of account to show questionable transfers made to an Official of CONOIL Nigeria Limited, in the determination to prove my allegation and recover the money meant for the seven host Communities of OPL-2007.”

Recall that Aginejuone had called on the Inspector- General of Police, to order the Warri Area Command of the Nigeria Police, to institute criminal proceedings against Mr. Charles Omadeli.
