Nine Communities in Warri South Local Government Area; Aja-Enetsemi, Aja-Egbe(Ighodemi), Aja-William Moore, Aja-Ukugbawa, Aja-Ekpeminagha/Aja-Popo, Aja-Efejuku, Aja-Iyemiduokori, Aja-Okuololo and Aja-Eyinsan, say they are not under Ikpisan Community in Warri South Island as alleged by Eng. Alex A. Neyin, Mr. Omajuwa Metsese and some unnamed persons.
The communities, which are situated at the Island, opposite the Old Nigerian Ports Authority, Warri River (Idale) in Ode Itsekiri Axis of Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, in a disclaimer through their counsel, ANDREW O. UBIDO & CO., noted that whosoever does: “Any Survey Work, Map, alienation, negotiation, mortgage, transfer, trespass, encroachment, lease of part or whole part thereof by any person(s) and especially by Eng. Alex A. Neyin and Mr. Omajuwa Metsese, does so at his/her own risk in respect to the aforesaid expanse of land, which are bona fide properties of the above Communities”.
The statement emphasised: “We also wish to inform members of the press and the general public, that there have never been a time the entire communities in the Island collectively agreed that the Island should be named Ikpisan community or Ikpisan Island”.
